Brett Barksdale is a native of Lynchburg. He graduated from Rustburg High School before attending Hampden-Sydney College and Liberty University.

Brett is married to Shannon Barksdale, originally from Gaithersburg, MD. Brett and Shannon have a one year old daughter named Taitum Mae.

Brett's very first job was working in construction with his father and brother when he was a child. Brett has been a builder himself for the past four years and still takes pleasure working with his dad on many projects. In the last 24 months Brett has built in Stonewall, Ivy Trace, Lakepointe, and Kensington.
